Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a CMT Senior Technician in our Richmond, VA, Blue Bell PA or Philadelphia, PA office. The position will coordinate and collect samples of diverse materials including, but not limited to, soil, sediment, water, and air for environmental tests. Compile construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring data and oversee CQA program implementation related to waste containment facility construction projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform field and on-site laboratory tests on materials used in construction and track appropriate construction material testing frequencies;
- Monitor activities on client job sites to assure compliance with relevant contract documents (e.g. technical specifications, construction drawings, sampling plans, CQA plans etc.);
- Provide CQA monitoring, groundwater sampling, soil and geosynthetics sampling, air monitoring, and contractor oversight on several types of construction and/or environmental activities on construction sites and develop understanding of construction management responsibilities;
- Prepare individual daily field reports, weekly construction schedules and progress reports, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, testing and monitoring logs, and related project documentation (i.e. field forms or as part of the database system) in a legible, accurate, and timely manner consistent with company policies;
- Assure the project documentation is correct, complete, neat, and consistent with the company’s policies and procedures;
- Interact with project personnel, including contractors/subcontractors, project managers, engineers and clients, and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open lines of communications and participation in work progress meetings;
- Coordinate and delegate CQA monitoring tasks to subordinate Technicians and Senior Technicians and provide guidance regarding the interpretation of technical specifications, construction drawings, and the testing of construction materials;
- Mentor, guide, and train subordinate Technicians and Senior Technicians, as needed;
- Observe the performance of Technicians and Senior Technicians and relay feedback upon project completion to employee’s supervisor and/or Project Manager; and
- Perform related work as required.
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of four (4) years (6+ preferred) of applicable experience, an associate degree or college diploma and a minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience, or a bachelor’s degree in science, construction management, engineering, physical science, environmental science, or related subjects. (required)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs. (required)
- Strong mathematical background with the ability to perform calculations in basic geometry and use of algebra. (required)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic. (required)
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds unaided and 50-100 pounds with assistance and/or proper engineering controls. (required)
- Ability to speak and hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. (required)
- Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation, for business travel. (required)
