Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Water Resources Engineer or Scientist in our Fresno or Sacramento California office to support our growing water resources practice. In this position, you will work on complex projects involving innovative sustainable groundwater management, water markets, groundwater recharge facilities, water conveyance, sustainable green infrastructure, planning, studies, and urban stormwater management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing water resource engineering and management studies, including groundwater recharge and water conveyance;
- Evaluating data on hydrology, groundwater, water quality, and water demand in the context of water supply management;
- Leading multi-disciplinary project teams for surface water and groundwater field investigations;
- Reviewing state and federal regulations & permits pertaining to groundwater and surface water;
- Performing and overseeing detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies and preparing technical reports;
- Interacting with client representatives;
- Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments;
- Supporting construction documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications;
- Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring; and
- Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences.
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, natural resources science, environmental science or a closely related field. (required)
- Advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering, natural resources science, environmental science or a closely related field. (preferred)
- Professional registration (i.e., P.E., P.G. CPESC, CPSWG). (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- At least 7 years (8+ years preferred) of experience in civil engineering or working in an environmental consulting environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- An outstanding track record in client management and technical leadership. (preferred)
- Project experience involving water resources, SGMA, groundwater recharge, or water conveyance. (preferred)
- Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred)
- Experience with grant writing. (preferred)
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
- Field work and overnight travel may be required.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.
- Minimum Salary: $97,030/year / Maximum Salary: $172,530/year (Fresno)
- Minimum Salary: $101,650/year / Maximum Salary: $180,745/year (Sacramento)
