Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer with at least 10 years (15+ preferred) of experience to join our land development and civil design team in our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. The position will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and work experience to real-world situations while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage projects from inception through completion, ensuring technical quality and client satisfaction.
- Mentor and provide guidance to early and mid career professionals within the team.
- Oversee detailed site-civil design, including grading, drainage, and utility layout.
- Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater management and floodplain studies.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and obtain local, state, and federal permits for projects.
- Utilize business skills relevant to consulting, such as client relationship management and proposal development, to develop an infrastructure engineering practice.
- Lead a team of early, mid and late career professionals to complete projects.
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- At least 10 years (15+ preferred) of direct site civil engineering and consulting experience (required); or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Managing complex interdisciplinary projects for private and public sector clients
- Effective business development and client management skills
- Technical leadership for civil design and site layout
- Task and project management. (required)
- Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
- Relevant engineering software. (e.g., AutoCAD Civil3D, SWMM, HydroCAD, and ArcGIS. (preferred)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
